Music test: For music, I listened to J-Pop songs and US-UK pop songs, with some mix of EDM/Dubstep. Although I have never tried headphones of the same price range I am 100% you can find something way better.

It does not reproduce accurately the sound, which can be partially corrected digitally, through the Dolby surround and EQ, but if you need to correct it with software is because the headphones are not good * Not ideal for: anything in quiet environments: If you want sound stage in relatively quite environment just buy open back cans

* Fair for: movies in noisy environments, again because of the surround sound and being closed back * Good for: skype/video call in relatively noisy environments, because of its noise cancelling mic, and gaming in noisy environments because of the immersive experience provided by the surround sound and the isolation it provides by being closed back. Moreover, they are gaming headsets, when headphones are for gaming they are usually overpriced.

The sound quality is not astonishing for the price either, and relies on digital gimmicks to sound better. Arguably one of the strongest points of this headset.ĭo you think a 60€ headset that breaks within the warranty (and multiple times in 3 years) can be considered of good value for the money? Personally, I would say "Hell NO". It's noise cancelling is quite effective. Thus we end up with a sound stage better than in most closed back headphones and a flatter sound signature. Once you turn on the Surround sound the sound signature changes, which should not happen, but it actually makes the sound better as it boosts the bass and, of course, improves significantly the sound stage. Without this option on, the sound is not immersive, the sound stage is tiny and its sound signature seem (to me) to up upward sloping: recessed mids and even more recessed bass. It also has the option of turning on the Dolby surround sound 7.1. This sound card can push the headphones to a quite loud level. This headphone was a dedicated sound card (that's why it connects through USB cable) which makes it significantly better than its younger brother, the Gamecom 380 (which I owned for about 1 year). The comfort will decrease after they eventually break, as the fit will not be as good. The velour pads are quite comfortable (but can get a bit dusty).

Regarding comfort, there is not much to say. The first time it broke it was still under the warranty of 2 years (give by the local shop), but breaking is considered user abuse and it is not covered by the warranty (I did not ask, but I did not have to). Mine broke in 3 point (2 of them are the same but in the opposite side), and I fixed it, but the fit will not be the same. HOWEVER (and this is a big however), the plastique is of poor quality and it will for sure break sooner or later. It can make some noise touching the ear cups, but you can always adjust the volume with the computer (this is digital volume only). The volume adjustment of the back of the left ear cup is quite easily reachable, you do not have to search for the volume adjustment in the cable, as it happens in other headphones. If you do not want to use an headphone amp of something like that, the USB is definitely stronger then a 3.5mm jack that can bend quite easily with a firmer pull. One of the things I like about this headphones is that they plug via USB. I used them for everything: Movies, Gaming, Music, YouTube videos, and so on. I used them for about 3 years, almost daily.
